What You May Experience
Following treatment, it is common to notice temporary effects such as:
- Mild swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness in the treated area
- Asymmetry or unevenness while swelling settles
- Bruises that may appear over the next few days and resolve naturally
- Swelling that increases from days 1 – 3, then begins to subside
- Product taking up to 4 weeks to fully integrate into the tissues
- Temporary altered sensation if numbing agents were used, which may increase your risk of burning yourself with hot food or drinks
Most people are able to eat and drink normally after treatment.
Comfort Measures
Some people choose to support recovery with the following:
- Paracetamol for discomfort (if suitable for you)
- Arnica (oral or topical) for bruising
- Applying cold packs intermittently from 4 hours post treatment to reduce swelling
Always check with your pharmacist or healthcare provider before using new medicines or supplements.
If you have a history of cold sores and treatment has involved the mouth area, speak with your pharmacist or prescriber about whether an antiviral medicine may help prevent an outbreak.
